well one way to see if you have a type-R tranny is peeking through the diff hole. Check out my LSD page here to see what I'm talking about:

Otherwise, the only real way to see what kinda tranny you have is by counting the teeth on the ring gear, which you'll be required to remove the tranny's bellhousing (outter casing).
