Well I have a b17 with brand new jdm b16 pistons on it and a freshly rebuilt jdm b16 head to go along with it. I want to try and pass bar. I have already tapped the line for the egr purge solenoid. I have obd1 gsr dizzy,p72 ecu and gsr wiring harness. Plan on using a carsound hi flow cat also.
So will I be able to pass?

fail. check vacuum lines. and make sure your ecu matches up also...

i have a 92 and the b17 came out of a 92-93 gsr
so i think im good there
i cant find a USDM P61 so maybe i could get away with the p72 from a newer gsr

even if they over looked the ecu (which they dont) the p72 is not for the single stage IM.

u will need a p61 otherwise u fail cuz the ecu doesnt match the motor..dont try to play dumb wit these guys cuz some actually know what they are lookin for..

ive been to the ref. 5x tryin to pass my jdm gsr and i got to know the ref. pretty good..he be tellin me stories of all these honda/acura guys coming in wit mod emissions ticket tryin to play dumb tellin him..pretty funni some of those stories

the problem is i cant find a p61!
they are rare as **** and i cant find it
im not going to play dumb i know my **** and i know what i have to do but its bad; for that ECU plus its obd0 im using obd 1 everything

Sorry but the P61 is an OBDI ECU, you will not pass that ref with the P72 that and you Should have a CEL on since the computer will be looking for the IAB, these guy know what there are looking for. Also with the extra compression from the assuming P30 pistons since you said JDM pistons you threw in there you will have a real fun time with the NOx part of the emissions. I have been to the ref a few times trying to get my car through and most of them are cool atleast the one i go to, but yea you cant really fool these guys to easy, the one in Visalia at COS college is cool. just let him know straight up about every thing about the motor and he will do his best on helping you get threw.

i know how you feel about trying to get an ECU i have a 97 EK with a B16A swap so i have to look for a USDM 96-97 del sol P30 which is a PITA.

P.S. if you live in the central Valley i have P61 ECU PM me and we can work something out.

Intake Air By Bypass, better known as secondary butterflies. I don't recall the ECU throwing a code for them if they aren't hooked up though.

i just looked on ebay and found a couple p61 ecus. if u still need one. i dont know if u trust ebay or not but in your situation i would try it seeing is that you need it.
