Default Need Help my 95 eg6 is idling rough.

Hell guys and girls i really need your help. So if you guys can help me out that would be wonderful ! so yeah.. i have a 95 civic hatchback cx completely stock. So heres the story.. it all started with my headlight bulb that burned out(left bulb light). I replaced it with a lumnanics h4 headlight bulb. So i started the car and test drove it @ night. I was at a stop light and i realized my car would make this weird noise (constant idle that was rough then normal basically sounded like an asthma attack on my car) If that was confusing then let me try to explain myself more it was basically like me gasing the pedal(not that much but enough to recognize it) and letting it go while i near or at a complete stop. I went to a macanic shop and he told me it was most likely my IDLE AIR CONTROL SENSOR ? I don't konw what that is but i told him im on a low budget and he only charged me 80 dollars just to clean it. My car would yet still have that ashtma attack sound but it would go away after sec. Couple days after which is today its back to normal. He said he would have to replace my idle air control sensor which would be around 300 dollars. My question are:

1. do you guys think its the bulb lights?
2. should it cost me around 300 dollars with his labor

Thanks for you help guys and if you guys are lost its fine.

I would believe it was the bulbs if your alternator took a poo.. but i doubt it. And the sensor its self cost anywhere from 110 to 190 bucks but i cant see it being hard to install yourself

did you put the stock lights back in like they were never out and then you could see if the reaction was the same as after the lights were changed. It could be that the bulbs use more power so it feels different at idle.

When im driving at night and have my new lights turned on it still makes that noise. So i curious if it was my lights or not so i had the car running but i turned off the headlights and i realized that SOMETIMES the noise would go away. I also unplugged the switch's that goes into the bulb lights.. and it still made the same noise. So im guessing its not my bulb lights ? Should i just put my stock ones back in and see ?

i would try putting the lights back in since that is all you have done since the problem started. This way you will know for sure what the lights are doing to the car.
