Just aim it at the wall, about a foot away, and when you get close to the end of the threads, set it down on the ground and stomp the wrench with your foot.

We've used an impact and actually stripped the inside of the nut. We've also used a spring compressor and tried to put the entire piece back in and trying it again. Nothing seems to be working. I'll check out the suspension thread though.

Go to autozone and get a spring compressor. When you return it, they give you all of your money back. If you try to do it without a compressor, it's under a lot of tension and could be bad news.

i used a spring compressor and then put an allen key in the top of the shock and had no problem backing out the nut

Alrighty. LIke said, we stripped the inside of the nut. NOne the less, we used a little heat and a lot of "Dad" power and got it to come off. Down side, when I replace my struts I'll have to cut that strut off, it's not going anywhere. Thanks for the help guys!!! I LOVE MY SI !:D
