Having some trouble removing the nut at the top of the rear strut. The one that holds the spring on. Any suggestions?

expletive that, that takes too long.

Just aim it at the wall, about a foot away, and when you get close to the end of the threads, set it down on the ground and stomp the wrench with your foot.

you need to put an allen wrench in the hole, and use a box wrench to remove the nut ..... or use an impact gun.

We've used an impact and actually stripped the inside of the nut. We've also used a spring compressor and tried to put the entire piece back in and trying it again. Nothing seems to be working. I'll check out the suspension thread though.

Go to autozone and get a spring compressor. When you return it, they give you all of your money back. If you try to do it without a compressor, it's under a lot of tension and could be bad news.

agreed

i used a spring compressor and then put an allen key in the top of the shock and had no problem backing out the nut

Alrighty. LIke said, we stripped the inside of the nut. NOne the less, we used a little heat and a lot of "Dad" power and got it to come off. Down side, when I replace my struts I'll have to cut that strut off, it's not going anywhere. Thanks for the help guys!!! I LOVE MY SI !:D
