Default what is the quickest way to remove rear struts?

i can un bolt the thing easy, its just a matter of uncompressing the damper assembly. how do i do this without the aid of a spring compressor? need to send in a strut under warranty, and i dont have spring compressor on hand, nor the cash to rent one.

lay it on its side, step on the spring with your foot and start wrenching away. that should keep the spring from flying away. or just get a buddy to help you. that's how i did it.

yea, but last time when we tried that
the piston rod would spin inside the strut assembly, and then the mounting bolt on top wouldnt come off at all.

usually the strut piston will have a recess in the top of it that accepts an allen key (stock struts do this) or they make it six-pointed so you can use a wrench (koni yellows do this). that will stop the piston from spinning.

TO do it the ghetto way and hurting yourself or anything around you:

1) get old news paper and wrap it supe good and even duct tape the strut and upper mount to the paper so it won't fly away.

2) Then get a allen wrench and insert in the little opening at the top of the strut and turn the nut with an open end.

-or-

Just get a impact gun and zap it

-While doing this SIT OR STAND ON THE SPRING-
