Default NEED HELP DIAGNOSING PROBLEM

Thx ahead of time for your ideas. Heres a little background to get you up to date

'94 civic ex - STOCK
140xxx miles

When I try to start there appears to be no 'firing' occuring. the engine is turning but no ignition. I have fuel pressure all the way to the fuel rail. All injectors have proper voltage. All belts are intact and tight. All spark plugs are getting power and have proper clearance. Distributor is fine. No loose are unplugged wires or hoses anywhere that I could find.

All it does is turn the engine, but absolutely no ignition.

feel free to ask if there is anything else you need.

Thanks
Sean

did u do any work to the engine? if its firing and getting fuel i'd say either you jumped timing, flooded the f*** oout of it or you may have had the dizzy off and screwed the rotation by 180.
Anything unusual before it stopped working?

Nothing odd was happening before this. Everything worked fine and it ran as though it was new.

With 140K miles on it, how many timing belts have been replaced? It might have jumped a tooth as previously stated. Also, the ECU might be bad. Try a trick I do alot. Turn the key to the on position without turning the motor over, All the lights will light up on the dash, then you hear a small click noise, then turn the motor over. Good Luck.

^The CPS didn't come up until the 6th gen ('96+). Make sure you've got both the vc to core support ground and the trans to frame ground intact!

did you see if you had spark? find an old spark plug and pull a wire out plug in the spark plug. then hold that spark plug to a valve cover nut/bolt and have someone turn the engine over..
also check the main relay.. they go bad in those cars

Ok, so we know you have spark and fuel. Did the car get hot/overheat? Can you check the compression in each cylinder. Check oil, is it creamy? smell radiator water under the cap, smell like exhaust? Let me know.

Yeah, but it never resulted in a no start condition, actually all it did was throw a CEL, ran completely fine otherwise, I've had this happen with 2 distributors. Whats odd is everyone says if that sensor goes bad the car wont run. I drove mine for 2 years that way and never had any trouble.

Another vote for timing. Double check your timing marks on the crank pulley, and your firing order.

I doubt the ECU is bad, but you might have something on the timing belt, even if it was off a tooth it should either start or kick, but its possible that the timing belt snapped, i've seen them do that and not make a sound either. take the cap off the distributor and have someone crank the engine, see if the rotor turns, if it doesn't your timing belt broke.
