Need dumb easy question awnsered ASAP!
I'm about to leave, just bought my EK, before i hopped in i wanted to check all my fluids. The coolant plastic tank is totally empty! so i filled it up with 50%/%50 water/anti-freeze, didnt not open the rap cap, just the tube that goes from the rad cap to the plastic tank and filled it up there, is this okay for now? i want to get it totally drained and replaced soon but is this how i should fill it for now!!??
Thanks, waiting for response before i can leave the house!
Don't want to ruin anything.
PS. this seems like the correct way, i just dont want to make a dumb mistake by not knowing honda wants somthing special done, thanks again guys.

Its called your coolant overflow tank.
it overflows into there when there is too much pressure in your radiator.
you're fine. no go away.

yes.also, when the car is cooled off, take of the radiator cap and top off the radiator,if needed.also fill the overflow tank to the full level.
if you're missing a lot of coolant, you need to find out where it's going.check for obvious leaks, and go from there.

Chris</TD></TR></TABLE>Yeah once it cools open the rad cap and fill it to the top, start the car and let it warm up open. Eventually it will go down so keep filling until it stops going down. Then make sure the overflow is between the min and max marks. Enjoy and happy tuning, well I guess maintainence in this case.

I have read conflicting things. Are you supposed to fill it between the min/max mark. I read somwhere that overflow reservoir was just for overflow. My rad is full but I have littel if any coolant in the overflow

fill it to the max mark.this still leaves some open room for overflowing coolant to fit.
if it drops to the low mark, fill it back to the max mark.

Chris</TD></TR></TABLE> Agreed, it is for overflow, but if you don't have any coolant in there where will the coolant system get extra coolant if there is a leak or some steams off?

uhhh,right-that's what i said.that's why i said fill it to the max mark, and maintain it there-that way you have the extra coolant if needed,as well as extra room in the catch can for overflow.
