Is it alright to drive around without my coolant reserve tank?? Mine broke and I can't get a new one untill next monday. I'm going to be driving around with some coolant in my car and will check the level in the radiator just to make sure. I'm sure it will be fine I just want to double check.

I would not do it. The reserve tank is there for multiple purposes. One purpose is for the hot (expanded) coolant to over flow into. If you remove the tank, the expanded hot coolant will have nowhere to go and could (if you plugged up the little hose really good) explode the radiator.

hmm, I guess i could use something in place of the tank. The tube isn't plugged and my local dealer can't get it into next monday and the junkyards don't have any either. Do they sell unversal ones at discount or pep boys??

i am just using a mountain dew bottle, cuz mine some how un hooked itself , and ended up right on my exhaust manifold, and melted completely, i was scared, they i grabbed the dew bottle in my hand, and cut a hole in the cap just big enough for the hose, and it actually works really good

like others say, just get a 24oz bottle of your favorite drink, and when you finnish it, zip tie it to your radiator support and stick the hoze in there.

Alright thanks for all the replies, now should I put coolant in there or should I just leave it be?

This very samething happened to a friend of mine too. Weird...
He actually drove around a little without it and it seemed to be fine...but I wouldn't recommend to anyone to do this.

Btw, this plastic tank will cost you something like $50 from the dealership I think.

Hahaa exact same thing happened to me. You can drive around without no problem, just make sure the tube drains on the ground so you don't get coolant everywhere
it won't cause an increase in pressure (whoever said that), just check your fluid level from time to time, mine never needed any. After several months I've finally recieved a new one, liek $35 from acura.

Exact same thing i did. I oiled my K&N, and i was like, WTF is that smell? Maybe i oiled it too much. Then i see lil whisps of smoke, and im like ,hmmm, open the hood, OH $HIT! Im a dumbass Now i have a tank from an accord that doesnt fit right, but does the job for $5 from the junkyard. ALso, i drove around for MONTHS without a overflow, just watch the radiator level.
