Default Need Del Sol help asap.

Ok so here is the story. I bought a 94 vtec del sol, after having it a few weeks it started overheating, i changed the stat and ran the van to a toggle switch in the car, a few weeks later while i was driving it home it started blowing out alot of white smoke after i got home i looked into it and i was told i blew a head gasket, i changed the head gasket and put everything back as it was, but the car is still smoking, it will start and idlea and it'll idle fine but smokes, if i give it any gas it bogs down.

Things i know about the engine :

its a d15b2 vtec, alot of people have told me d15b2s don't come vtec and its mini me swapped?
its all stock but intake, and headers back exhaust.

i changed the oil and filter after i changed the head gasket, and i put a new o2 sensor for a 94 del sol on it. ( if thats the one on the headers)

a friend broke the head off the bolt holding the cam gear on, the belt and gear sit there fine and car still idles.

This is my only car and i need it going so i can drive to work so any help what so ever i will be greartly thankful.

1st idea -
maybe the head warped when you were having your overheating problem. If the head gasket "blew" after that, and now the new one won't seal.
2nd idea-
Did you torque the head down to spec with a trustworthy wrench when you did the head gasket ?

So what is holding the cam gear on at the moment coz if it is just sitting on there it will come off and there goes valve damage for you.
Also if you have just done the head gasketand this is just start-up then it is not unusual to still have some white smoke for a bit but I would not be running the car without the bolt for the cam gear.

as stated above. you could have a warped head, or not torqued correctly head bolts. the broken cam gear needs to be taken out with an e-z out. DON'T TRY AND RUN IT AT IT'S CURRENT STATE, YOU WILL F*** YOUR ENGINE UP! Pull the head off and take it to a machine shop and have it surfaced and cleaned. it'll cost you about 50-60 bucks. get a new headgasket, and don't let your friend work on your car

Also, when the car overheated you could have stretched the head bolts, so when you torque them down they aren't torqueing correctly.

i said **** it and had it b16a swapped at the local shop -.- it turned out to be a bad head gasket the parts store gave me, but still had it swapped to not have to deal with future problems
