Default My question for all you smart honda guys!

Ok, I have a d16y8 that i swapped into my del sol. I can be at a stop light, take off in first, and everything is fine, but when i shift into second gear, i can be going down the road and my cars tranny will pop out of second and go into neutral, what is wrong with my car? Please help soon!?!?!?

Check clutch & tranny fluid. My brother's car does the same, so he ordered an Exedy kit.

you should check your tranny for fluid it may have very little or way too much

could be the synchros... does the same thing in my car when i slow down in 3rd... i was told i need new sychros but im gonna try some gm synchromesh before i do that cuz i might as well rebuild the transmission

synchros wont make it pop out of gear...sounds like a shift fork problem or shifter assembly inside the tranny.

I've seen bad clutches cause this also...but you'll need to take a look at the tranny to figure it out

Check your tranny fluid. Mine popped out of fifth and then my tranny went out on me.

my 5th gear kept on popping out of gear,..turned out to be the synchro

odds are its a shoft fork, a syncro would have to have some odd damage to cause that.

had the same problem with a d16y7, replaced the tranny with an d16y8 tranny, sold the old one because i did not want to fix a dx tranny. no more problems
