My p28 ecu
What exactly will a Chipped p28 do, I know some elimitate rev limiter but i'd rather have that. Will it increse proformace by a noticable amount or will me stock p28 do fine?

Re: My p28 ecu
it will make a pretty big difference by changing the fuel maps and timing maps around and eliminating the stock rev limiter and the stock MPH cut off. pretty much its the start of having a fast car.

On a stock engine? Not really much of anything. The chip can be programmed to do many things. It can be programmed for an entirely different engine with different ignition/fuel maps. It can change vtec engagement, remove/alter redline, create launch control, create shift light with the CEL.
Don't bother spending money on this in conjunction with a stock motor if you're looking for peformance gains. All the little extra bits are cool though.

Re: My p28 ecu
if its gonna be built for boost, you might want a better way to control your engine management.
chipped ecu: someone else's fuel map, not good for boost, every motor is different.
hondata s300 ecu: fully tuneable, will provide much better power gains if tuned right....and best of all, your engine will live to see another day.

Re: My p28 ecu
Yeah its fully built, golden eagle, skunk2 turbo valve train, 6 months in the making, and 100% of my spare time and money
So should i send my ecu off to get it chipped now? im swapping it in this coming up month. If so what would you suggest i get done. Or Should i just get a totally different ecu from them?

Re: My p28 ecu
check out phearable.net. They have ecu chipping services. read my suggestion on what to get, though. If you've spent months of time, and thousands of dollars on your setup, you may not want to put a chipped ecu on your motor....it will blow, only a matter of time.
look into complete engine management systems. phearable has offers on S300 systems. Check for a good local tuner, also.

Re: My p28 ecu
please do not street tune a boosted car. and second crome is a good entry level tuning software but, i would advise on going hondata s300 for many reasons. Please do alot of research for your self because the last thing you want is a blown up engine that you will be usuing as a coffee table.

Re: My p28 ecu
dont get some random chip just invest in hondata or some other kind of tuning software so that u can get tuned, it would be best to speak with ur tuner beforehand to know what kinds of programs he is able to tune seeing as how not everyone is able to tune every single program out there.
