Default Is my heater core the problem?

I recently put a b16 swap in my 92 hatch and when I drive, temp stays fine except when in traffic or stoplight my temp goes and starts to overheat. When I completely stop and turn off my engine I hear a boiling sound and all my radiator fluid leaks thru and covers my carpet floor. Is the heater core the only place where radiator fluid goes from the engine to the car?

Sounds like it, or a broken line to/from the core.

The core is inside the enginebay?

Just be sure to order the heater core online, dealership prices are insane. My heat and temp gauge went out last week but there are no catastrophic leaks so it's probably the thermostat.

Check your radiator fan if its coming on. Also, if there's a leak in the cooling system it will lose efficiency they are designed to run under pressure (liquid under pressure has a higher boiling point).

Also check the pipes coming through the firewall into the engine bay from your heater core, they are super soft crappy metal that is easily crushed or distorted. If the hoses are stuck cut them off and replace (do NOT grab with pliers they will crush). If they somehow got distorted they might leak. You can sometimes carefully make them round again with a deep socket or something. Also you could cut the heater hoses and couple them together to bypass a bad heater core (no heater but thats better than overheating).
