Default 92 civic 4door 1.5 coolant problem

it started out that the seam on top of the radiator cracked so i went out and god a used one and now my upper and lower hoses stay hot and then about ten minutes later my fan will kick on is that going to be one of 2 things one i got a bad radiator or 2 i need to change my thermostat and that probably what cracked my old radiator and also one more thing my temperature gauge on my dash doesn't work is there a temperature sending unit some where near the thermostat housing? any and all ideas will help thank you

p.s. the top hose heats up and then a few mins later the bottem one gets hot too

first of all , if it was the original radiator, it was probably just time. i replaced my radiator and hoses, and they are hot all the time too, i have no issues though. That coolant does heat up. The fan will turn on when it reaches temp. If you never have replaces the thurmo, then its probably a good idea anyways...

i think it is just good practice to have a radiator in good condition .... if you have an extra 100 bucks they got some nice alluminum ones on ebay .. i did it, have no more problems. As far that the dash gauge, im not even gonna pretend i know that answer, Someone will though.
