My first swap experience b16a2 into 5th gen coupe
Hey,
I have a 93 honda civic ex.
I decided the best thing to do is swap. I got a pretty good deal on a b16a2 out of a 00 si with supossibly 40k miles on it.(all about high revs)
At first I had this guy going to do it but he was a big flake, so i went down to Redzone, (they were cheaper than dnr) and i heard great things about them, They did the whole swap in a day. I was missing so much **** and redzone is soo ******* savage they made it work. They made fun of me for using "syncrogrind"(gm syncromesh), but it looks like the swap was "ment" for my car. Redzone is VERY good at what they do, i got AC and power steering! Redzone did a great job and I was very pleased with there work and the way i was treated as a customer.
Heres some pics:
Before
After
(ment for my car )
My thoughts : MAD VTEC, MAD REVS...LOVIN IT
Mods:
energy suspension
Stock TB bored to 65mm(100$ big bore)
Aebs intake manifold
Hondata intake manifold
Craptacular short ram intake
stock motor
dc-sports ceramic 4-1 header
Skunk2 chipped p28 ecu
awesome bolts from the redzone bolt drawer

how does it run?
must be like a night and day difference going from that cheep sohc to a b16 </TD></TR></TABLE>Probably not. He gained 30whp and very little torque if any. I would have kept the SOHC and turboed it for less money than a swap and been a hell of a lot faster, AND IM not a fan of the SOHC.

Re: (turbotime)

how much did you spend all in all including, bolt ons, IM, labor?
BTW its only a B16a2, you'll get use to it eventually and want a faster motor

Re: (eL)
congrats dude! I just swapped a 2nd gen b16a into my 5th gen coupe too. Got all the bolts ons too. But now (2 months after the swap) I am already starting a poor mans R w/crane stage 2 cams, dual valve springs, titanium retaiers and a vafc2. I need more torque. The never ending search for speed continues....u'll see just give it a couple of months
What did they do to keep ur a/c? I lost mine after the swap....the lines didn't match up to the compressor and the d16 compressor doesn't fit on the b16 block. I know about using the del sol dohc vtec a/c bracket but here in Canada Honda wants $225 for it.

Re: (jdmsiR20)
I sold everything from my single for 450$, but it was totally stock and 108,000 miles brand new oil change and i bought the car at 96k. I was asking 400$ for it and i had like 10 people want it so it was like an auctian.
Also my ac is currently not working it pushes out like semi cold air but i think i need to replace the fluid its on low. Well Redzone put this special pulley on there to get the belts to go right(hasport sells em for 100$), and everything else just went right on.
