motor swap - 94cpe DX auto --> 94 CX hatch manual
I'm helping my friend with a motor swap this weekend.
His 94 Civic Dx coupe (automatic) was hit in the rear by an El Camino.
He just picked up a 94 hatch (trim level unknown) that had a GSR(manual) swap, but has no motor right now.
First things first - yank the D motor/tranny from the coupe. I should be ok there.
I'm not yet sure if the hatch has a cable or hydro clutch - So should I also pull the master cylinder (not sure if it is different)?
I'm also told the hatch was rigged for VTEC in the wiring harness...would that simply be an additional wire in the harness, or will I have to rearrange any pins?
Any other pre-planning tips for this swap tomorrow?
Everything should just bolt right up, right? (lol by saying that, it's almost an automatic jinx)
thanks guys

Re: motor swap - 94cpe DX auto --> 94 hatch manual (( o )( o ))
Its a little more difficult then you think. The problem with the 92-95's on auto to manual is the mounting point thats on the frame of the car, not the mount bracket like on 96-00. Im not really sure what you could do about that mount to put an auto in a manual car. Might want to call hasport and see if they have any mounts for that.
What youll want to do to make it 10000 times easier is gut the dash's and swap harnesses thatll fix your wiring problem. Other then those 2 things it plug and play.

Re: motor swap - 94cpe DX auto --> 94 hatch manual (Luserkid)
I was already considering the harness swap.
I was completely unaware of this auto/manual tranny mount issue.
(I'll probably just have him jump on craigslist and find a manual d-tranny locally)
Thanks!
any more issues/tips guys?

Re: (( o )( o ))
i just found a cheap 97 d-series manual tranny - will it bolt up to this 94 CX hatch with a 94 DX motor? any mount or electronic issues, or will it bolt right up?
thanks!
