Default Motor smoking, please any help will be helpful.

OK so its a d16y8 on a 98 civic ex.

When i start the car up from a cold start its fine.

After it warms up and the temp is in the middle, the thermostat opens and the car start to smoke. It smokes from the engine bay. Anybody???? I have a cel for a knock sensor number 23. but that is because i dont have my knock sensor and so its not plugged in. And its white smoke so i am burning coolant....... it also idles pretty high

Any suggestions will aid me in trying to fix it.

well you have a coolant leak.. it can be from anywhery.. hoses, radiator, radiator cap not working properly, or even a crack head.. but not likely.. it seems you have a leak and its when it get high pressure as when the thermastat opens it will leak on something hot engine, headers, exhaust and just burns it..

cant locate it, it just smokes from the enging block area ... its kinda hard to find... i think i am going to go have a leak test perform and maybe i can detect it with the coconut smoke system.
