Default more cold air?

a friend of mine told me that a black widow 1 hood draws a lot more cold-air into the engine, true or not?(more cold air = more HP, right?) but ithe hood is fiberglass? will i need hoodpins if i get that hood? or it's better to go with a CF hood?

is that the hood with the stupid *** ram air intake things?
if it does draw air into it, it dosent help anything
the filter is nowhere near the hood scoop
and i dobut the air cools the intake manifold at all. if it does, its minimal.

plus, aerodynamic drag is your enemy.

What's the definition of cold air? I read somewhere that's it's about 46 degrees. Therefore, in the summer, whatever you pipe in, it's not going to be "cold."

well, why is cold-air intake called cold-air intake then? just because it's further away from the engine compare to the short ram intake it's called cold-air intake? yeah, hot air flows up from the engine but i'm sure the road is hot as hell too..and the black widow hood is sealed when you order it, you can cut the hole on the front and let air in and you can cut hole anywhere under the hood for the air to come out, like right where the intake is...and yeah, aerodynamic drag is a problem too...thanks guys..

i've see a chopped up b18b rex with a hole cut in the hood (extremely ghetto) for the intake to breathe. The hole was cut directly above the intake piping. I drove it before and after they cut the hole there was a slight, yet noticable difference in overall pull.
