More from "ghetto tech"
For those of you that missed our first installment of ghetto tech click here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=561369
For our second episode, we are working with a new CD player. Lacking funds to purchase the necessary dash pieces from a store, I just opted to test fit it without. It fit ok, but its kind of sunk into the dash, not flush. After some thought (and the headache that resulted from that) I realized that due to my current inability to sleep, i could use my stock radio to make a sort of cover for the cd player.
This way, I no longer have to worry about stunnas breaking into my car, as a factory honda radio isn't worth much. I dont have a camera with me now, but I will keep you updated as the project moves along, hopefully pics by tomorrow night. Hope everyone else is sleepin better than me......

Re: More from "ghetto tech" (CivicNA)
doesnt that dash piece cost about 10-15 bucks? anyways, if it is just sittin in there not secured, when u run your car at the dragstrip, the radio is going to pop out.

Nah, its secured, the cd player fit like a glove. It just sits sunk into the dash a little. And yes, getting the plastic piece that goes there for a CX is only a few bucks, but this way I save myself a few bucks that I dont have, and it lets me bring you more ghetto tech.

Ok, I've finished the trimming of the factory radio and all I need to do now is glue the buttons back to the factory face. Then I'll pop it in and take some pics at work tomorrow. BTW, this only works if you remove the face of your aftermarket CD player.
Its not really meant to look cool, but to give potential thieves one less reason to break into/steal my car.
