Well, i just built my mini me, d16y7 block, d16z6 head, new head gaskets blah blah did it right. Timing is set right and all, but it still idles funny, and today, i was letting it idle after i set the timing right, and it got hot pretty quick, and it shut off. i started checking around and feeling the radiator hoses, and the top hose was hot, but the bottom was still cold, and the radiator wqas also cold. i dont really know what it could be. maybe a bubble, or the water pump? i just wanted to know what you guys thought it could be. thanks helpanoobout

did u change the water pump? did u torq the head down right? did u use plug everything in?

head is torqued down right, everythings plugged in, the water pump is pretty new. i dont get why its just shutting off, prolly after 5 or so minutes, and i did it again, and the temp gauge wasnt even halfway when it shut off this time.... my buddy that used to wokr at one of the local shops came over and plugged the vacuum line on top of the throttle body. could this be the reason? im not too sure on this. someone help me out ASAP, my cars been down toooooo long.

I do believe there is a ground on your thermostat did you connect that. I may be wrong I am 1/2 asleep by now. Good Luck.
