Mini Me - D16Y7 Block, Y8 Head, Z6 IM Questions
I know that there are other posts about this topic but i have been looking for a while and can seem to find out what i need to know.
I plan on doing a mini me swap to my 97 civic d16y7.
I have a d16y8 head and a d16z6 intake manifold. new top end gasket set. using the P2P ecu(keeping it OBD2)
i know how to wire up the v tec, knock sensor. i think the timing belt from the y7 will work.
I need to know:
1.If the z6 im will work on the y8 head.(Sensors the same?)
2.what injectors and fuel rail i would need, if the z6 im will work.
3.i heard i need to use some of the y8 head studs/bolts?
any input would be greatly apperciated!

Re: Mini Me - D16Y7 Block, Y8 Head, Z6 IM Questions
1. It will work. You will need the Z6 fuel rail for a perfect bolt on as the Y7 will need to be modified (the support bolt holes don't line up). You might as well get some Y8 injectors or remove the blue portion on the OBD2 injectors to plug in some OBD1 injectors (any OBD1 civic/integra injectors minus the CX and VX injectors) because the DX injectors are only 190CC (pic #1). The IAT sensor is in the manifold unlike the Y7/Y8 which is in the airbox or intake arm. You can either swap plugs and use the round style or place the IAT in whatever intake you use (pic#2). The EVAP purge is different between the Y7 and Z6 so use the Y7 and just place it somewhere around the fuel rail plugged in. Also you will need to convert the 3 wire IACV to two wire and run the VTEC and knock sensor wiring (Pic #3).
2. See above
3. You need new bolts, the Y7/Y8 share the same part number. If you use the Z6 head on the Y7 block you have to use a mix of the two.
