replacing master cylinder and 02 sensor!
sup guys,
recently my check engine light was on so i checked it and it came out CODE 67 (problem with my 02 sensor). at the same time my clutch was going bad and saw that there was leakage in the master cylinder. i brought it to a body shop and the guy said he would replace the master cylinder and the 02 sensor and do a basic tune up (change all fluids, spark plugs, etc) for $400. another guy who works at honda said he would install the OEM 02 sensor and master cylinder for under $300. what would be a better choice? anyone know how much a regular 02 sensor and master cylinder costs compared to OEM?
thanks.

Both seem to be reasonable prices if they include parts and labor. We charge $79 a hour at Honda and that's a 3 hour job I believe.

I know that the 02 is over 200 bucks new from Honda. Neither are difficult parts to replace, so just do it yourself. Pick up a used 02 on here for 50 bucks or so and get a new MC. You can change both in a couple hours and you will have saved 2 or 300 bucks. Pick up a Helms manual as well, as it will save you a TON of money by doing things yourself instead of having mechanics do them for you.

and i couldnt find a o2 sensor for sale on the boards, is there another cheap place i can buy it?
thanks.

Just pm Eli_Vang on here (see my sig) he always has a couple lying around. The 02 sensor you just pull out and put the new one in. If you are worried about the MC, just find a fellow HT member and offer them a 6pack or so for helping you. If I was close I would damn sure help with a MC install for a 6pack.

and you can even get the helms manual if you look closely in my sig...
then spend the money on

You can get an 02 sensor from http://www.prostreetonline.com for 100 or so. You can install it your self its easy but get a can of wd-40 or mr. wrench or something like that incase the 02 sensor is seized like mine was. As far as the master cylinder i can't help ya there.
