Default Map sensor problems...

Hi guys, i've got a limping '94 Sir2 just had honda tell me i need a new map sensor (and quote me silly money), so off i went to the scrappy to try find one. the original item is a denso but the one i got now isnt. anyways its still in limp mode. any ideas? should it be an exact copy? does the ECU need resetting before limp mode is disabled?

if there is a CEL (check engine light) on then yes, unplug the battery for a couple minutes, re-connect the battery and then drive around for awhile...if you drive for more than an hour and no CEL comes on then you should be ok. however, if a CEL still comes on then you probably need another new sensor, in any case..if a CEL pops on again, see if its the same code and go from there.

Dealerships charge WAY to much, the thing is, some people are stupid enough to pay their high prices.

also... just incase the sensor isnt the correct one does any1 know the resistance it should read between the pins?
... and shouldnt there be a voltage reading going to the sensor when the engine is running?? (because there isn't) :S
