Re: Map sensor (mikey-ej7)
with the check engine light on you would get i high idle, around 12 - 1300
without the check engine light on it idles around 500 - 600 and sounds horrible. runs really rich.
when accelerating...you pretty much dont accelerate, its jerky and stumbly and wont hardly move.
how do i know these things? cause mine just went bad yesterday code 3

Back from the dead. I'm the new owner of this car.
The CEL light doesn't work, at all, like, it doesn't come on at KOEO or with the plug jumped. Is there any other way to check it?

have you replaced the bulb in the back of the cluster. try that first then try to read the code.
the common symptoms of a bad map sensor are running rich, hesitation, stalling. but there are other sensors that share the same or similar symptoms.

just go to your local part store, they have them. i don't remember the bulb size, but they're there. the store rep should be able to help. just remember to take the bulb out of the cluster first and bring it in.
