Putting in a new tranny, trying to decide what fluid, Im in canada on the east coast, so it gets cold in the winters. Its a s20 off a D16Z6. Let me know what I should put in it for fluid, thanks.

any kind of motor oil will work. If you want you can do it the right way and put in honda tranny fluid. I used regular 5w30 motor oil and no problems at all. The oil is really just there to lube the gears, but if you want to get technical tranny fluid will be somewhat better i guess.

i wouldn't go any thicker than 10w30 bro. As for the cost of the honda fluid, its $5+ for a bottle i believe

I think its around $5 a quart. Don't use motor oil in a transmission. Engines and transmissions operate and wear in two completely different ways. Honda OEM MTF is formulated to lubricate, flow, dissipate heat, and withstand trans. operation unlike regular motor oil. Motor oil will "work", but it won't last (the oil or your trans.). The right tools and the right parts for the job. Period.
