lsvtec oil leak between head/block under dist.?????
I had a small oil leaked on the headgasket right under the distributor side between the head and the block, so I had the headgasket replaced and got the head resurfaced with new valve stem seal, also put in a str cam seal.
After got it running for a day, noticed that the leak is starting to show again, after a few high rev on the highway, noticed that its getting on the wires and little splash hitting the intake. Everything is cleaned of oil and dirt on the head, only where head meets block down there's oil, dirt etc...
I replaced it with a stock LS hg and im pretty sure I got it on the right side because the other side, one corner doesnt line up with the block.

ls-vtec all way leak oil between the head and block. it could be your distributor is not tighten enough, also check your vtec VTEC solenoid gasket just in case. by the way what kind of head gasket did you used??

Best way to do it, clean which side the oil comes and after that let your car idle and have a look which side the oil comes.
Have you check your Distributor seal? Or Cam seal?

^ my first guess as well
best bet is to clean the **** out of it and let it idle... attack at first sign of oil

Re: lsvtec oil leak between head/block under dist.?????
Cleaned it off, and noticed that the oil starts to build up where the tranny and block meets, so sounds like an oil line is leaking slowly to where the tranny and block meets but I cant distinguish extactly where its coming from other then center of the head and block meets where it ditch in , because cant really tell if its leaking from there with everything blocking it.
any input?

Re: lsvtec oil leak between head/block under dist.?????
Fixed the oil line leaked and its still leaking.
The motor was already leaking little oil when I bought the car so im not sure if they used the kit or not.
During the install, the dowel pin only fitted on the intake side of the head because the hole on the ls gasket were too small on the exhaust side so I used the intake side to line everything up with the arp studs.
The dowel pin were same size on both ends, so they must of drill the head to fit the dowel pins?
This only comes down to one thing, either my block is warped, uneven or??
