LSD?

LSD?
does the d16z6 have a lsd? and is so does the d16y8 have a much better one? Is it worth swapping out my good tranny for that?
on another note does the d16y8 head swap onto the d16z6 block without any trouble?
I want to get the y8 head, stick a cam in it, shave it to 10.4 to 1 and bolt in onto my d16z6
id also be using a Y8 mani and gsr TB, i just need to know about the tranny and y8 head what u guys think

hahah. no. that would be great though. if you want an lsd (you should ), quaife makes one for the d - they run around 8-900, but it's well worth it. if you look long enough (very long), you might be able to get it around 500.
i believe some other manufactures make them, but i don't know who. do any of you guys??

yes, some of them had optional lsd.
Instead of lsd, why not do an intermediate/half shaft setup instead....WAY cheape and will cut down a lot on the torque steer and one tire fire

Are you aware of the axle setup on B series etc???
Instead of having one short axle and one REALLY long axle-like the D series, they use an intermedate shaft, which bolts to the block, and then a 1/2 shaft with cv joints to the hub.
This gives you equal length drive axles like that of B and H series engines. This cuts down tremendously on torque steer and one tire fire...but obviously not as great as lsd, but MUCH better than the orignal setup.
I'm going to make a write up sometime soon when I get my parts in order to do so.

i'll be waiting for that!!
i knew d series axles were different lengths, but i didn't know that about the bseries (i think i'm a dseries guy ). about how much does this cost roughly?
hypothetically lets say i do this equal length axle thingy, get an lsd, solid mounts, and a traction bar. how good do you think i'd be (well my car - i suck at driving for now ) at autox with a conservatively boosted (properly also) y8 (~5-6lbs with low spool)?
i've heard people say that autox with a turbo honda isn't that great of an idea, and a NA bseries is much better. but i would much rather just keep the good motor i've already got some $ into. what do you think?

That's what I'm doing
But I doubt I'll be going lsd unless I get a great deal.
My setup-
Apexi ball bearing kit at 8 psi tuned
equal length axles
custom chrome moly traction bar setup
This will be a great setup and assist the open dif greatly. I obviously have suspension, etc, but as far as power and front end mods goes very simple
I took first in region in autocrss this past season with a worn out Z6 and DX tranny
