Default ls vtec questions?

I'm getting ready to build LS/VTEC. But I have a couple of questions, I'm going all out in build it bullet proof. Forged internals including the crank from Eagle. But before I do, I been told I won't be able to rev past 8 grand with a b18b crank? is this true if so can I go with a b18c crank? and will it rev past 8 grand???

i had 2 ls/v's and i ran both off a p72 with stock internals. i ran the one for 11 months and the other for about 2 years. the p72 redlines at 8200 and i took it there often. mine never gave me a problem. everyone doesnt agree and says u shouldnt rev it that high but like i said , i never had any issues. now if you are asking if it will rev that high physically, yes, the ecu is what controls the rpm u breach. so if they are telling u the crank wont let it rev that high there full of crap. it could go to 20000 if u had an ecu that would go there but the block would blow up in your face before u even got close.

shifting at 8200 you should be fine, i shift my b20 vtec at that (stock b20b with stock b16 head) and havent had any problems. B20's stock redline is lower than LS. Get it dyno tuned and see when it stops making power, and its pointless revving any higher than that.
