Default ls block question

I have a b18a1 block, I looked pics up on google and there's a box that goes next to the oil filter do anyone know what that box is for and if I need it where can I find it?

you will find it on b18a1's only, 1-2 10mm bolts hold it in. It is needed or oil will come out everywhere when you try to drive it. I'm sure you can make any 94-95 b18b1's fit though.96-00 did'nt not have this.

that box is to catch oil vapors. It's not needed, but you'll need an oil catch can if you remove it.

that's if it's the one with the PCV in it.

#1 right? that a breather chamber or "black box". it is part of the pcv setup and is needed. also as mentioned above it opens to the crankcase so oil will come out of the big hole if it isnt there.
