Default Lowered too much!

Hi!! I need some help , I have a 1995 honda civic 2dr
K heres the deal I went to get the car inspected and the guy says that the headlights have to be 24inches from the ground. Im at 22 inches.

Car has coilovers - Focus R2 (cheap Im thinking) well anyway Ive never had to mess with them. I bought the car this way, well i searched some of the threads here and I have done this

1. Jacked up the car
2. Loosened the bottom perch
3. Ive tried going in both directions and it appears that it will only go up so much and the back down.
4. I read a bit about preload and was wondering if that might be my problem..

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Oh and just so I dont kill myself anymore... The more compressed my spring is the lower the car would be... is that correct.

Yes, the more compressed it is the lower your car will sit. So are these sleeves or a full damper set? I know on my Skunk2's you have to loosen the top as well as the bottom on the sleeves in order to adjust the height.

You want less compression & spray the coil over threads with wd40 to loosen them up a bit

From what Ive gathered on here I think its just the sleeves im not positive - I have not tried adjusting the top part.. I will try that

Oh and I did apply wd40 before I did anything so everything was loose and easy to turn (I was able to turn with my hands) but they would only turn to a certain point and then go back up.... Kind of like when you have a stripped bolt..

I do have the two keys as well and ive been using them..

Maybe get a brush of some sort and brush off the thread of the sleeve as you adjust it up and down. I ran into a similar problem because small rocks and dirt were interfering.

I have ground controls and some tein suspension. Both get hella stuck if any grit or dirt is up in the threas. I used brake cleaner and hosed em down, however even if it looks clean you might have to lower the collar to get to the threads that are covered at the time of the cleaning. I just spent hours pulling my tein's off so i could clean everything by hand (the brake cleaner wasn't doing it). Also brake cleaner ate the paint on my ground control setup when I tried to wipe it off a red KYB. if i let it dry it doesn't seem to hurt anything though.

Cool this makes sense I will make sure to clear the coilovers of any debris and check to see if the top of the coilver needs to be adjusted to adjust the height as well
