Default lowering car durability............................

my friend has his car lowered about 1"1/2 and he used springs.......he said that he wouldn't be able to hold more than 3 people in the car otherwise his shocks and stuff will bottom out. i am planning to lower my car to his level or lower. will getting coilovers help instead of just the springs. i was thinking ground-control coilovers and kyb struts and shocks.........need help

all cars lowered or not will get lower when heavy object are thrown into the car.

It depends on the kind spring you get. The spring rate and how heavy are the friends in your car makes a difference too.

best thing to do:

carry less people! lowered cars are intended for what... performance... do you see performance-oriented cars carrying many passengers? hmmm...

it's a trade-off... if you want to sport around w/ friends in your car, get a luxury car....

but most people lower cars for looks and not performance. In fact now that i think about it, how many things are there for imports that were originally intended for performance are now becoming for just looks and style. what a sad sad thing.

so is it better with coils than with springs though, in general case. that kinda sucks then if that is the case. cuz mad ppls asking for rides and i end up driving everyday about 3 ppls excluding me a day hanging around in my civic coupe

The problem your friend is having is that he is using the stock shocks. If he gets some performance shortened-rod shocks (like certain Bilstiens) he will not have this problem. Any good coilovers should already be built on shortened-rod shocks.
