Hey guys, i recently got a new ignitor, i took out my dizzy and put it back in, i marked it, but i'm still converned my timing is off.. car does'nt feel right. Also.. we put in 0w30 last oil change, think i'm gonna move up to 10w30.. syn/mobile 1.

the engine is a d16y7/mini-me/skunk2 im.

well.. i hooked up the gun, red to +, black to -, the green clip to the first ignition wire.. and nothing.. i started the car, pointed the gun at the crank pulley, held the trigger down, moved the dizzy up and down.. up and down, slow slow slow.. nothing.. do i hold down the trigger and move, pull the trigger...

its an autotronic or something, the **** they sell at autozone. Whats the deal ?

Yo just hook the connector up to the number one cylinders spark plug wire and point the gun at the crank pulley. You will see a little white mark on it just turn the dizzy until the light matches up with the mark. Make sure your light is lined up with the timing mark on the cover.

Also make sure that the service connector is hooked up by your ecu. Its a green plug, and just use a paperclip to loop the two wires. If you have a hayes manual it shows you where it is. Its right by your ecu.

If he lined it up with the white mark, his timing would be set at tdc? And it would hesitate and run like complete crap! When it comes to timing, you don't want it to be 14 degrees retarded, that would be retarded. Set it to the middle mark, it should be red! It will have 3 laser etched marks, the middle one should be marked red! And after you do that, reset your ecu, done.

when i did the timing on my gsr swap the crank pulley lines were there but no paint on em so i had to put a lil paint where it was supposed to be. it can get pretty tricky also make sure u got it on the cyclinder closest to the crank puley
