Default leaking coolant and rusty coolant

radiator and hoses are all new, yet i'm loosing coolant from somewhere. the coolant is also "dirty" somehow. like that rust colored crap. i've got coolant, not water in the radiator. where the heck am i losing it from? i don't see any puddles under the car, either.

well are ALL the hoses new? because in the back of the block where the coolant lines go into the heater core those could be leaking coolant

now the reason you wouldnt see it is because it would drip down onto your exhaust pipe and burn up. this happend to me on a few cars. check those.

if not the water pump could be spitting it out but only at high revs. make sense? try having a buddy hold the idle at 3000 and look.

goodluck

not all hoses, just upper/lower rad hoses. i'll check all those tomorrow. thanks.

but that doesn't explain the crappy condition of the new coolant i keep pouring in. could it have been a dirty overflow jug?

looks like there is oil in the radiator. i would have guessed head gasket, but the oil in the engine isn't milky as you would expect. no white smoke from the pipe either.

how would i check on the heater core?

i'm planning on doing a compression test soon. i'm wondering if the compression is off and possibly pushing oil through the valves? or am i just talking out of my a$$?
