where does the coolant go?
Alright, my girl has a 95 civic lx with a lot of miles on it. Every couple of weeks, the car starts to run hot. When I check the coolant level I have to add about a pint of water. I changed the therastat and there are no leaks. I thought the head was cracked but I checked the oil and there is no coolant in there either. The water pump is working since the water is circulatating in the radiator. So where does the coolant go????
Thats a good question, my CRX does the same thing, so once it was to a certian level I didnt put anymore in and now it just sits there, loses a lil over time but not a pint...

Also check the radiator at the bottom... there is a small channel down there on the rad. that some water can collect (hide) and dissipate. Another thing to check is the top and bottom of the radiator, as it is plastic and if it's cracked... will leak some steam which will leave no evidence on the ground of a leak.
