my buddy installed a fuel kill switch to the fuel pump hot wire. and it was working fine and he turned the switch on one day and the car wouldnt start he took off the switch and connected the 2 wire and nothing he connected the main wires together and still the car doesnt turn on is there a fuse that can be replaced so the car can function properly or did the fuel pump some how short out? what do you guys think it is!! its a ek hatch 98 obdll

yes there is a fuse that he can check, i just don't remember where. it's either under the dash or the hood.

he can also check to see if the main relay is bad.

for my civic. the fuel pump fuse is the same as the air bag fuse..under the dash..its a blue i think a 7.5 fuse...good luck

its the law that nothing can be on the same circut of the air bag. and common sense just for the same reason if anyhting on that circut shorted it could deploy the airbags. I strongly rec you dont touch the air bag fuse unless you know how to disengage it. serious harm could result. but otherwise at both locations under the hood and under the dash is a detailed fuse map which depicts which fuse is which.

it prob wasnt the law in 1996 cuz my 96 ex has a airbag/fuel pump fuse..

my apologies, I looked at a wiring diagram and found that the fuel pump and air bag module power supply do share a common fuse. but I think that they did get away from that I know other manufacturs dont do it for that exact same reason. but I am sorry again.

Have him check his main relay!

ok i was helping him and i guess is dad helped him so it wasnt nothing big because his dad fixed it and he doesnt know how to fix cars so!! yea it was somthing easy!!
