jdm d15b vtec (in 97 2dr) tranny problems
ok soo i finaly figured out my timing issues and got the motor runnin strong. so i take it out to the desert saturday night. come back sunday morning. now i gave my engine a quik thorough look around and i notice my inspection play is missing on the bottom of my tranny big uh-oh! because i was driving on dirt to get to camp, including a couple peel outs/donuts here and there (in the dirt) now all sunday i notice my tranny actin kinda wierd. grinding when going into 2nd and 3rd, and have to slam it to get it to drop into 4th. no problems with 5th but when i was on the freeway i took it out of 5th and i couldnt drop ANY gear untill i slowed way down and after throwing around the shift *** a bit. (happened twice). if im stop and in neutral, when i let go of the clutch i can hear some thing like jangling around in the tranny. now i was thinking hey maybe my tranny oil is low. so im heading back to my house to see if i cant find the problem out there. well i get off the freeway, come to a stop. drop 1st and im not stepin on it to hard, just a lil bit. well im accellerating in 1st and then a big CLANK! the car just suddenly jerks to about 1 to 2 mph and i can tell sumthing in the tranny just went. i pop neutral and try to roll down the hill to the "park and ride" but while rolling in N i hear clank clank clank and feel it jerk the car every clank. so i say nope and just park it where it is and get it towed to my house. oh and also the clutch wont disengage and i noticed sum fluid was released from the pump right under the power steering resivoir. also now that its at my house nuetral seems to be rolling fine with no clanks or jerks.
so basically my questions are as followed:
what do u think would cause all this? (im thinking a rock stuck in flywheel/clutch but i dont know)
is there a chance that there is engine damage?
what is the fluid that was sprayed out of the pump
is there a way i can manually switch the clutch position sensor in the tranny so i can try to start the engine in neutral? (clutch wont disengage)
thanks for the help and advise in advance
