jdm b16 crank sensor?
im swapping out my b16a2 block for a jdm b16A block. As a i was swapping out sensors hoses etc.. i notice there isnt a place for the cranksensor on jdm block. I did a search but found nothing. Anyone know what i need to do with that sensor? Will the car drive fine without it? thanks in advance

Re: jdm b16 crank sensor? (hatchi)
Its goin into a 2000 si im running a stock ecu. do i really need that cranksensor?? i just finished dropping everything in except for the axles and some misc. parts. Will there be drivability issues without that sensor hooked up? what is the easiest way for me to do this? i heard i could swap my ecu with a p28 chip+harness ob1. anyone know if that would work?

True.
thats what i did when i swap my b18c1 obd1 block in my 00 si.
i had to reuse my b16 oil pump so i could mount the crank sensor.

its pretty hard but its possible that you can do it while its in the car
i hope you have a lift
might as well buy a obd2 to 1 conversion with a p28 chipped ecu or p30 b16 ecu
but im not sure if you can pass bar or whatever it is at CA

basicly all u got to do is set the crank to TDC take off the left front tire. take down your exhaust manifold take off the oil pan. take off you crank pully (easly done with an impact gun or electric half inch impact) remove black cover off oilpump
take crank gear off. remove timing belt. take off oil pickup tube then remove oilpump from crank. not hard really.. just a lot of work..
have fun...
(if i missed nething im srry just correct me )

will the car start without the crank sensor? finished puttin everything together last night and the car cranks but wont fire up. i havent checked the plugs yet to see if fuel is flowin or if im getting spark just yet. im most likely goin to do a ob2 to obd1 conv.can anyone recommend a good p28 chip combo? my car has minor mods like:comptech icebox, gsr cams, organic street clutch w/ flywheel.

You can also bypass the CKF sensor as shown here -> http://technet.ff-squad.com/ckftrick.htm
