IT'S ALIIIVVVE!!!!!!
Ok, need some help here, iv'e taken the reciprocating assembly out of a 87 acura integra twin cam (d16a) and placed them in a d16z6 block, with the exception of having to change the crank gear everything worked out fine. (i'm using the z6 head too) Here is where it gets tricky. The crank gear on the teg motor is a bit bigger than the gear on the z6 but, the inner diameter of the z6 gear is bigger than the teg's. I found a gear among some junk i had lying around that fits perfectly. ( don't know what motor it's from) Now the car runs, seems to have aalloott of power but pings on regular gas less on premium , is this because of the compression ratio? or timing?

well with a stock motor its unusual for it to be pinging...its usually a timing issue...check to make sure TDC...im not qiet sure what gear you are using, but since thats what was changed, it leads me to believe its timing...check it before you keep starting the motor because detination isnt far away
