ITR Swap into a 92-95 Ex Civic...What all will I need?
Okay, I am planning on doing a J-Spec ITR Swap into a 92-95 Ex Civic. Included in the swap are the following:
LSD Tranny, ECU, axles with half shaft, stock shift linkage, stock motor mounts, alternator, starter, clutch, flywheel, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, fuel rail, injectors, distributor, engine harness.
Now I have been told that I will need a p28 ecu chipped to the stock J-Spec ITR specs. I am not sure if this is true or not and I would also like to know what else I am going to need to do or get to make this swap work. Call me stupid, dumb, or having lack of honda knowledge, but I am just making sure that I will have all the things necessary to do this swap.
Thanks,
Trock1029
oh yeah...I have some options here...I can either get the
96-97 J-Spec ITR motor with all the items listed above which comes with an average 15,000 miles for $4,450.00. My other option is that I can get the 98-00 J-Spec ITR motor with all the items listed above which comes with an average 10,000 miles for $4,900.00. Which would be the better bet...I know they are the same motors with the same specs but would one be better for the swap or just depends on what year I want/how deep my pockets are? Any and all suggestions or help would be appreciated! Thanks!

not sure, but there might be an obd-2-->obd-1 conversion harness needed.
i'd get the cheaper of the two motors just because i like older motors

Okay, so just get a p28 ecu chipped for the itr specs and all that good stuff and possibly get a obd2>obd1 harness if needed? Does $174.95 sound like too much for the wiring harness?

Harness is all the way at the bottom of the page!

Just get the '96. They probably all have more than 15k miles on them anyway.
And check out the Sponsor Marketplace here, you can get a harness for $75 shipped.

Oh yeah shoulda mentioned that lol. Your EX is already OBDI. Check out the FAQ thread for how to hook up an OBDII engine to your existing engine harness.
