J-Spec ITR Swap in 92-95 Ex Civic.....Helpful hints needed please...
Okay, I am planning on doing a J-Spec ITR Swap into a 92-95 Ex Civic. Included in the swap are the following:
LSD Tranny, ECU, axles with half shaft, stock shift linkage, stock motor mounts, alternator, starter, clutch, flywheel, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, fuel rail, injectors, distributor, engine harness.
Now I have been told that I will need a p28 ecu chipped to the stock J-Spec ITR specs. I am not sure if this is true or not and I would also like to know what else I am going to need to do or get to make this swap work. Call me stupid, dumb, or having lack of honda knowledge, but I am just making sure that I will have all the things necessary to do this swap.
Thanks,
Trock1029
oh yeah...I have some options here...I can either get the
96-97 J-Spec ITR motor with all the items listed above which comes with an average 15,000 miles for $4,450.00. My other option is that I can get the 98-00 J-Spec ITR motor with all the items listed above which comes with an average 10,000 miles for $4,900.00. Which would be the better bet...I know they are the same motors with the same specs but would one be better for the swap or just depends on what year I want/how deep my pockets are? Any and all suggestions or help would be appreciated! Thanks!

For $450 more, I rather go with the 98.
I have a 96 ITR Motor in my EJ and I'm running JDM P73 with a jumper harness.
No Problems
Good Luck

The 98+ is worth the extra $$ in my opinion for the 4-1 header from the factory and the 4.785 final drive. You wont be able to use the JDM harness though. You'll need a USDM GSR or ITR harness, OR you can mod the EX harness to work, splicing the alternator plug, distributor plugs, and injector plugs.
