Intermittent rev drop and stall while stationary (B16A2)
Hi,
I am experiencing an intermittent fault irrespective of whether the engine is hot or cold. While starting the engine, occasionally the revs will drop off and the engine stops. If I try to restart the engine, it either won’t start at all or it will start and then immediately stall. After numerous tries it will eventually start and run completely normally. This problem only occurs while the car is stationary. The car also doesn’t show any warning signs or fault codes. Does anyone know what the problem could be and any possible remedies?
Thank you,

unplug the iac see what that does, beat on the iac see what that does, clean out the iac passage see what that does, introduce a vacuum leak see what that does, replace the iac see what that does.

check the tps sensor... do so by unplugging it while the car is idling. if it does not cause the revs to increase, its most likely bad, and you need a new one. people will tell you you need a new intake manifold, but thats not necessarily true. most are rivetted on, so you just need to grind it off.. im sure you could search around for it here.
