after i got to work i poped my hood and checked my water in my resevoir and put my hand on my intake and it was really hot all the way down to the filter.
is this normal or do i have a problem?----------------------------

Made from chrome?
Chrome on intakes is an electroplated finish, not a composition material. The intakes are not made of a chromium alloy.
If you were just driving and popped your hood, then of course it's going to be hot. It's made of metal and sitting in an engine bay that contains a metal engine block that gets up to around 400+ degrees on the exterior, and an exhaust manifold that can peak above 1000 degrees.
