Default idling problem

got a 94 civic, 1.5 recently rebuilt. when i first cranked it it idled fine, but when i shot the water to it im guessing, the iac valve got water and it died! if i take it off and clean it it will idle fine till it gets water and it dies. does it just need to be replaced? what should be done?

Those do commonly go bad...when you say water, you mean coolant, right? I've just said F' it, and have lived with it for 2 yrs!
