idle surge, d16z6
i have a 95 civic d16z6. it has an idle surge thats i cant figure out. its been doing it for a while now. as far as i can see, it doesnt have a vaccum leak or bad gaskets. the coolant isnt low. the tps reads the right voltage. performance parts are pretty much bolt on. msd igniton and an apexi vafc. it started doin it on its own. it wasnt after installing anything so im stumped on what it could be. if anyone has any ideas or can tell me what else to check it would apreciate it

Re: idle surge, d16z6 (DCSportEJ1Civic)
I don't know if those motors have a FIT valve. If it does, check/clean that. I used to have a d16y8, but I don't remember if it had one since I didn't really start getting into my Civic motors until my b16.

Re: idle surge, d16z6 (nighttrain33)
they do have a FITV
try cleaning out the IACV tho, it is probably full of carbon.
then check and see if any vacuum lines are kinda crimped up (like the pcv valve)
as far as the FITV, if you take off the cap, you can skrew down that yellow thing, be careful doing so as its easy to damage (thermowax)
if that doesnt work, i dunno
currently working on my own fluctuating idle
