Default Ideas on this crazy sound?

You know those ribbed sections, on the shoulder, of the highway - the things designed to let you know youre almost off the road?
Well...I have that sound going on, no matter where I am, but ONLY on my passenger rear.

The weird thing is, its not constant, but intermittent, and doesnt seem to be associated with anything, such as bumps in the road, varying speed, or braking (it even makes the noise when brakes are applied)

Ive checked my tires - no rubbing, no nails, no bulging - a bad bearing would be constant, and 'squealy', rotors arent warped and pads are secure, wheel was just balanced yesterday (made the sound before, makes the sound still)

What else am I missing?

Try sticking your spare on, see if goes away. Usually these kinda noises are caused form somethign in the tread. This happend to me once, upon closer inspection my tire was bulging out like 5 inches haha, then it blew up violently i just found chunks of rubber still left in my trunk. from it haha. (20 year old tire) I'm guessing its' something with the tread. Maybe just the way it hits the ground?

Or maybe is it the fuel pump perhaps? no probley not, but theres really nothign else back there.

YEah. I'd say jack that wheel up off the ground, and then spin it. As it spins, watch it closely and if it looks like the tread pattern is waving back and forth it's a bad tire. Also, watch it from the side and see if the tread depth fluctuates as you spin it. It's easier to see this with the wheel freespining than it is to see when the wheel sits still.

If it's not that, work the wheel back and forth and check for play. It could possibly still be a wheel bearing.

How are your shocks? And your 100% its the passanger rear? Check inside the car and see if theres anything rolling around in that area. Hard to tell the sound without a video clip.

Yeah, I know, but I dont own a video camera.

nearly 100% sure its the passenger side...you have ideas for driver's side?
Shocks arent that old and the car's not dropped that far. No oil leaks either

I'll see if I can find something to make a video with...

edit*
Oh, and I completely cleaned out anything that would move around today...still makes the sound.

Check all your bolts on your trailing arm, control arms make sure there all on really good because it might be that there loose a little and move from time to time. Im just throwing ideas out there because its weird.

probley you have a slipped tire belt. On the way to the track ran over those ribbed sections
things. Rear lower control arm bushings were torn

Only way to be sure is put a different wheel/tire on and see if it changes.

My car is making a similar sound because of rear end alignment (toe). Is it vibrating too? If so, then I think that's your culprit.
