IAT Sensor CEL and Wiring Problem
Ok, i have a mini me swap in a 92 cx. b8/z6. I have had CEL 10 (intake air temp sensor) since i got the car. I just replaced the sensor with a brand new one. Still have the CEL.
More infor on the car, i was searing around and i saw that i might need to check the ecu? its running the d15b8 ecu NOT the p28 like it should. Could that be the problem? Either way, here is a pic of the stupid wiring, i dont know if everything is correct or not.
Thanks.

Re: IAT Sensor CEL and Wiring Problem
well most sensors such as IAT, O2, MAP, TPS often operate on mV. fractions of a Volt. simply twisting the wires together aren't going to help matters. I highly suggest solder and some heat shrink but thats just me, elec. tape will do just as good.
might try switching the wires maybe you just have the two wires backawards? just throwing that out there. If you have had the CEL code since you have had the car i doubt that it is because the ECU are running, assuming that you did the mimi-me after you got the car and that it didn't come that way.
beyond that i couldn't be sure?

Re: IAT Sensor CEL and Wiring Problem
i got the car with the mini me, he told me that it had CEL 10 which is for IAT. I verified it and its the only CEL i have.
I tried switching wires, also rest ecu after switching wires. i didnt check the voltage, i know its supposed to have 12v while at the ACC position.

Re: IAT Sensor CEL and Wiring Problem
possibly the IAT wires are pinned different for the ECU you have. i am not familiar with the b8. I am guessing that the original motor is a B8 and swapped a Z6 head, but i don't know.
that just makes me ask how you have the vtec wired up and how the fuel maps and ignition tables work?
any way check that the the ecu you are using has the IAT sensor wired to the correct pins. I know there is wiring diagrams for the different models on here some where i just don't know where?
I'll see what i can find

Re: IAT Sensor CEL and Wiring Problem
well im running the b8 ecu, i know i need to get a p28, just havent had the money. Its possible the IAT sensor could be wired incorrectly but im really not sure.
As far as the vtec, ONLY the 92 came with vtec pre-wired in the cabin harness going to the ecu, then going to the strut tower plug, connecting to the engine harness. I need an SI harness to make things correctly wired for vtec.
