Throwing 14 codes on my 99 ex. Car runs fine up until it hits closed loop and then everything goes nuts. There are quite a few manufacture specific codes for Baro sensor, and random misfire, but i've had those for a long time from being boosted, anyways, had a code for high circuit voltage for both O2 sensors, high voltage for ECT sensor, IAT sensor, MAP sensor, and IACV sensor.

Could my ECU be crap?? I checked all the wiring around the intake manifold, and the wires that would follow the harness for all of those sensors. Just weird that these are the sensors that are used in giving the ECU readings for A/F ratio. My car leans out like crazy when this is going on and can't even drive it normally because it bogs down like no other. NEED HELP FAST.

i'm no expert, but for your car to trow all thoughs codes.....for all thoughs sensors....at the same time, it would have to be the one thing that they are all connected to, i would go to autozone, they check codes for free, and see what they say

Well, I plugged my friends ECU from his 99 civic ex to see how it runs, ran fine until I turned it off at Wendy's for lunch, and then on the way back, started running like **** again, so I don't even think its the ECU now. I have a scanner of my own for OBD2 so I can check the codes. I can't imagine a wiring problem throwing all of these codes at the same time and having my Air Fuel ratio lean out to about 20 to 1 at idle and doesn't let me accelerate at all, no power.

Connectors have no corrosion in them either, as well as the grounds. Could my SAFC be the problem?? I don't know how, but all my solders are good, nothign broken, ran fine until I welded a hole in my exhaust. SO damn weird.

Also, I was just told that because I welded it on the car, I could have sent crazy electricity through the car fryign stuff. Would I have to replace all those sensors that I threw codes for, or would there be a fuse I could have popped or relay of some sort???

that could be the case, when you were welding your exhaust did you disconnect your bat. if not you deff. could have fried some ****!!

i have a friend that has his own shop so i get to use all his **** to work on my car, i when to weld my exhaust about 3 mounths ago, right before i started he came running across the place yelling at me to see if i had disconnected my batt. i hadn't...i don't know what would have happend if i had let it go...all i know is every time i weld anything anymore i dis the batt

This what i was going to say!! Did you disconnect the battery?

no i didn't I dont' know what I was thinking. I'm going to check all the sensors in a little bit to see if they work or have any resistance. If you could find out, how much damage could I have done, i mean the worst possible scenario. That way I knwo what to expect and hope it only gets better from there.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I need to figure out what needs to be replaced and what can stay. I hope its jsut the ECU and not the sensors itself.

he wasn't there , but i did ask my other friends dad who tows on the side and he said that you deff. could have fried all of the sensors even the ECU. i'm going over to my friends house who owns the shop later tonight so i'll get a strait answer

hey man, i just recently narrowed it down to the ECT sensor itself. The car honsetly runs better than it did ever. Smooth idle, better overall performance. I called a performance shop that deals w/ hondas/acuras and they said ECT sensors can effect these cars performances because they are quite critical to the A/F ratio. Now I'm throwing NO codes at all, and it runs and pulls very hard again. Thanks for all the posts. I'll make sure not to make this mistake again.

thanks though. you guys got me going in the right direction. It would have probably taken me quite a bit longer, because I would have bought an ECU, then checked the sensors, but probably wouldn't have the time to even check them because who knows what direction I would be going in. Thanks again.
