ect sensor/ecu issue
My car has been running with a CEL.. when I pulled the codes it showed code6 ECT Sensor. I unplugged it and noticed that the wires were bare and probably have been crossed for a while. would only the sensor go bad? or would it send a signal to the ECM/ECU and burn a segment in there also?

fix the wires first, that may fix the CEL. if the wires are good and you are still getting a CEL then you can check the sensor/ecu
