Default i NeeD help taking off the shift linkage!!!

well as the topic states, i need help taking the shift linkage off. my friend iz swaping his motor out but we just cant get the linkage off. can u guys help us out please! thanxs

Really working blind here.... what kind of car, what part of shift linkage won't come off? details, details, details

If we are talking about a mt civic, then the shift rod going to the transmission is connected with a roll pin that is driven into a hole that goes through the shifter linkage and the trans shift peg. It is held surrounded by a clip, and usually covered by a rubber boot......if you don't have a civic, sry, might try posting some more info.

that pin is truly a BITCH. its pretty tough to get it out but u can use a 12mm bolt thats long enough and hammer it out. might take a couple swings but youll get it. and im assuming its a civic. this IS honda-tech on 92-00 civics. but the way i do my swaps is alot easier so i dont have to use a cherry picker or take out the shift linkage.

I detach it at the back, and drag it out screw that damn pin

Yeah i usually detach at the shifter and take it out like that...then if needed ill get the pin out with extra room.
