Default i have serious vtec problems... =/

ok so i just got done swapping a gsr set up into my car, got everything running good, but now run into the fact that my vtec does not crack, does not engage at all. i thought there was something wrong with my ecu so i plugged it into my friends car and it worked fine, then i tested to see if my vtec selenoid worked and it also did. so my final conclusion is that i need a "knock sensor" and have no idea where i can get one for cheap. and also does it matter that i have it obd1?

Junk yard it.. But its going to be a pain in the *** to get out. And don't tell them you want that part, cause they most likely wont sell it to you.
