I don't have a rev limiter? Info. needed...
I haven't raced in the 1/4mile in a while, so I did and noticed my 2000si doesn't have a rev limiter any more? What could have happened? Is it something with the ECU? I can use all the feedback....

You have no ******* clue what your talking about.
Hint that he said 99-00 si and anyways the p28 doesnt even rev limit at 6500 rpms anyways.
Heres a little sneak peak of some of the new rules..

If there is a tech topic and you have a "pretty good idea" about an answer then please say so. Stating something matter-of-factly when you're not 100% certain can be a terrible thing. Also sometimes you may think you have the right info, so try to avoid posting things in a manner that leaves you no wiggle room if it ends up being incorrect. Use phrases like "I'm pety sure" or "If I recall correctly" so that someone else can verify your info before someone else takes it as gosphel truth.

I think jerbear was just giving a example of tachs being off. Because he said nothing about ecu's or anything with the SI. Just that tachs are off.

maybe jerbear has an ls. he didnt say that his b-16 ecu has a rev limiter that kicks in late. he just said that his rev limiter is supposed to kick in at x rpms and is late to the show. i have a b-20 and an ls ecu and the rev limiter kicks in some where around 7200.

Re: I don't have a rev limiter? Info. needed... (PNelsonBLKSi)
When my tach reached 9000 I let off. I tried it tonight just to see, damn, I don't have money to take it somewhere and have it looked at, does anyone have anymore info. about my 2000si that doesn't seem to have a rev limiter???

Re: (BlackCivSi)
do you have a v-afc or another way to see the RPMs accuratly? cause stock tachs suck at high rpms. I have a em1 too and I took it too 8500 and it still didn't hit fuel cut.

What kind of valvetrain do you have?

ok well if you keep doing that your going to get valve float that is if you dont have stock int but you can all way just pick up a new ecu for like 250 or so at inlinefour.com

Re: (krys)
Ya, so I had someone look at my **** and they said my ECU was chipped with something they never seen before. I'm going to have to buy a new one now, anyone got ideas about which one would do me best?

Well if you want a stock ECU I have a 99-00 civic Si ECU. If you want to convert to OBD1. PM Kenji.
